Artwork story: Josephine has painted her Mother's country. Bush medicine, goanna and many other traditional bush foods are found here. The intricacies of Josephine's artwork reveals her intimate knowledge of country; however like most artists from Ampilatwatja, in the Eastern Desert region of central Australia, she has made a conscious decision not to paint ‘altyerr’ Dreaming stories. Here, the artists paint their country where the bush medicine and bush tucker plants grow and where they go hunting.
