- 'This one la dumbuny [owl],' Madigan Thomas says. 'Him get jealous - him singing out jealous. [He's called] Jani, his front covering used to be made out of kangaroo skin. Green bird and a yellow mouth - Dirringin (Laughin' Jack), they call him - he laughs at the dumbuny because he never wears any front covering. He laughs when people go night-time toilet. He tastes sugarbag [bush honey], knows when it's the right time.'
