Artwork story
In this painting Sarah has painted her country Mina Mina. The different colours in the painting represent the Tali (sandhills) that surround her country. Here the women collect bush leaves from the putja plant which they cook over hot coals. The white flowers of the putja are rubbed onto the young men’s chests before ceremonies to make them strong. Sarah walked all over this country and visited its many rockholes as a child.
