Artwork story: Rover Thomas transformed the Australian art landscape with his austere ochre paintings that distilled ancestral stories into elemental forms. In Jaandoo (Wild Dog Dreaming), he charts the ancestral wild dog's journey across Wroowina in the Great Sandy Desert - a site saturated with story, spirit, and memory. Using a minimal palette and geometric planes, Rover evokes both topography and mythic presence. The wild dog is a guardian, a hunter, and a law-carrier.
