Munhala Dhamarrandji is a Yolngu artist from Yilpara in Arnhem Land. Munhala belongs to the Djambarrpuyŋu clan and is part of the Dhuwa moiety. Her artworks often depict the miny'tji (sacred clan designs) related to Batjimurruŋu, a shellfish found in mangroves. This design holds great cultural significance for the Djambarrpuyŋu people and connects to the Buckingham Bay region. Munhala's work is created using traditional earth pigments on bark and incorporates Yolngu cultural techniques, such as marwat (cross-hatching).
