Artwork story: Abie's painting depicts elements of the Bush Turkey story, an ancestral dreaming tied to her country, Ilyentye (also called Ahalpere). The bush turkey, known as arwengerrp in Anmatyerre language, is found in areas of dense grass and remains an important food source, still hunted by Aboriginal people today. The dots in the painting show akatyerre, desert raisin or bush tomato, which the bush turkey eats. The lines trace the turkey's tracks as it moves through the country with its young, searching for bush tomatoes. At the centre, the circle marks a waterhole where the bush turkey drinks kwatye, water.
