Artwork story
In the Dreamtime there was this man standing on top of the hills looking and calling for his dogs which had run off to chase kangaroos. The man is the rock on the left at the top; he is still calling to his dogs. Two of his dogs are in the Bow River they are still biting that kangaroo; they are the rocks in there now. More of his dogs are down in the flat country to the left not shown in
the painting, they have killed a kangaroo, and the kangaroo fat has turned into the white rocks that you find down there. This place is Madigan's fathers’ Country at Bow River. “My father's Country go right up to Pelican Hole (Baljarran’ga). When I ben kids we ben walking through that Country." Madigan said when she was young and walking through this country one time, they tried to chase an emu to eat it but it got away up in the hills.
