Joey Nganjmirra, born 1980, is a Kunwinjku-speaking artist from Oenpelli (Gunbalanya) in Western Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. He belongs to the Djalama clan and Yirridjdja moiety. Nganjmirra is not only a visual artist but also a cultural ambassador and dancer with the Karrbarda dance troupe. His artworks tell of a broad range of stories including those from his maternal grandfather's country in the Mangardubu region, north of Gunbalanya. His pieces have featured in exhibitions across Australia and internationally, including the "Salon de Refusés" in Darwin and "The Inside World" at the University of Virginia.
