BIOGRAPHY
Willy Billabong was a Kukutjatata artist born in the Eastern Kimberley are in 1925. He painted for the Warlayirti Art Centre in Balgo Hills before relocating to Halls Creek and working at Yarliyil Arts. He has eight paintings in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia and his works have featured in several prestigious exhibitions including:
- This is country, Artplace, Perth, 7 April - 2 May 2004, cat. 11 (label attached verso).
- Paintings from Remote Communities: Indigenous Australian Art from the Laverty Collection, Sydney,
- Govett Brewster Art Gallery, New Zealand, 15 December 2007 24 February 2008; then touring to: Newcastle Region Art Gallery, New South Wales, 5 July - 31 August 200
